Important Notes¶

Please read this section before beginning to work on remoting.

Code¶

• FIXME:Remoting is the flag to be used for any hacks, workarounds or code that must be revisited later

Tickets¶

• [MASTER] is the prefix for all main tickets for remoting.

Switching on / off Remoting¶

Remoting can be switched on / off in various components:

• cdmlib:

  • (un)commenting the single line to import remoting-services.xml":http://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/trac/browser/trunk/cdmlib/cdmlib-services/src/main/resources/eu/etaxonomy/cdm/remoting-services.xml in the Remoting section of "cdmlib-remote-servlet.xml in the cdmlib.

• Taxeditor:

  • switching the application context file from localApplicationContext.xml":http://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/trac/browser/trunk/taxeditor/eu.etaxonomy.taxeditor.cdmlib/src/main/resources/eu/etaxonomy/cdm/localApplicationContext.xml to "remotingApplicationContext.xml":http://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/trac/browser/trunk/taxeditor/eu.etaxonomy.taxeditor.cdmlib/src/main/resources/eu/etaxonomy/cdm/remotingApplicationContext.xml in the "editorApplicationContext.xml in the taxeditor.
  • Configure the remoting connection for the TaxonomicEditor: [[TaxonomicEditorDevelopersGuide#EditorSide]
