<p>The General menu has the following options:</p>

<li><strong>New;</strong> for creating a new Taxon or Reference, name, person, specimen or classification</li>
|
|

|
<li><strong>Close; Close All; Save; Save All;</strong> these functions operate on the taxon or taxa records that are open in the Freetext panel.</li>
|
|

|
<li><strong>Import;</strong> for importing data for an existing database or file.</li>
|
|
13
|
<li><strong>Export;</strong> for exporting data to a database or file.</li>
|
|
14
|
<li><strong>Login;</strong> to open the User login pop-up box.</li>
|
|

|
<li><strong>Exit;</strong> for closing the Taxonomic Editor.</li>

|

|
<li>Recently opened records are listed at the bottom of the menu. Click on a taxon name in this list to open the taxon in the Freetext panel.</li>
