Seems to be fully implemented for area term trees in current milestone.

Still check blocked by information before fully closing.

Another open issue is to handle area term tree on a per feature level. New ticket needed.

The area tree can be chosen and the distribution info returns only values for the selected areas.

I think #9500 does not block this, because it handles the status terms not the used areas.
Currently the fallback areas are still marked in the area itself, not in the area tree as suggested in #9502. I think this can be handled in #9502 and does not block this ticket.

I agree that I also think that the blocked by information in the ticket description is not correct. So I guess we can close this ticket. Or is there anything else you want to check?

No, I think we can close this ticket, do you know where to remove the blocking information? I can't find it.
