bug #8905
closedDescription Handling in ABCD import
100%
Description
mail AM:

The default should be to create a new description, not to reuse it.

The description handling is fixed now, but another problem is the titlecache creation. After adding a new source to the description the titleCache is created with all containing sources.

What exactly is the problem here? It is not incorrect that the titleCache changes if a source is added as long as it is for the new (ABCD based) description.

That was only the explanation why the titlecache of the description now contains the source of the import.

Can you please add example data (webservice, example specimen) for reviewing?

For testing import:
File -> Import -> Specimen -> Specimen Online -> enter "bgbm*Herbar" in text field for biocase provider -> choose 'Herbarium Berolinense, Berlin (B) - http://ww3.bgbm.org/biocase/pywrapper.cgi?dsa=Herbar'->NEXT -> enter "B 10 0762132" as Accession Number
When Specimen Search view is updated, open the import configuration and select one time "reuse existing description group" and another time deselect it.
For the second test you can use the accession number "B 18 0011654".
Check the taxon Abies alba for newly created descriptions.

This seems to work as expected now (though I still am not convinced that having the option to merge distributions if they have an explicit source makes much sense, but as this is not the default it is ok to leave this to the users and needs to be discussed elsewhere)
