Description
Adding typedesignations to names with informal ranks (species groups and aggregates) should be supressed, whereas removal and editing of existing type designations should still be possible.

Not sure if we should implement this.
- In E+M there were very rare cases of such names with nom. ref. (so there might be exceptions)
- If such taxa should have no type designation the taxonomist should know this anyway, so the only advantage of implementing this might be that there is 1 section less in the UI. As aggregates are rare anyway it will not help much. If we decide to implement it might have low priority
We might implement a validation rule that may indicate wrong data.

Oha, good and very important point!

So, I fully agree with you in all points. I am ok with closing this issue as rejected if not Walter is having strong rejections against this step.
