Maybe only for KDE. @Patrick: Do you have similar experiences with your widget style and widget toolkit?

Has someone tested Mac OS in this context?

I use Cinnamon desktop on Linux Mint and it looks like this:

Not very beautiful but ok. We should change the background color to the default widget color (here: grey)

Should look similar after changing for linux. But open issues are to have equal button sizes and to have labels always in middle of following textbox. Also the distance of the remember me/Default: line to the above line should be larger and the space on the button could be reduced.
And the advanced section could be more organized

Thank you for this screenshot. This clarifies the situation. There are a couple of eclipse bugs due to which eclipse is using the system color settings for Tooltip Background and Tooltip Text if not defined otherwise. This is often causing problems for the tooltips (https://www.qwant.com/?q=eclipse%20dark%20background%20unreadable%20tooltip&t=web) and other UI components when Tooltip Background is set to a dark color.

So a reliable solution is to define the color explicitly to something that contrasts with the font color. I suggest to use some light grey instead of a color like paper-yellow, this ensures a more consisted view even in different desktop environments.
