Description

The formatting 2017-00-00 to 2018-00-00 is not nice. Having only a year or a year and a month but no day is a very common use case but the formatting does not look nice. Can we still try to remove these trailing zeros (only for the case that a year exists)?

done, for testing you can use for example http://edit.test/d7/reference_int/cdm_dataportal/taxon/c246856f-c03e-4cb7-ac92-d9b2864084cd/

Do you also have an example on the test server. The above seems to be local.

The formatting of year only or year and month only looks ok now so we can close the ticket. Other open issues will be handled in #8145.
