generally the Editor philosophie is to have as little warnings which need user interaction as possible, so instead of having an extra warning we could I would prefer to simply change the right click menu label to a label which fully expresses what happens if you push the menu item (e.g. something like "make this name the only basionym of the group" but a bit shorter).

A question about Eckhard statement that there is always just 1 basionym per group: I remember 2 names/taxa in E+M having 2 basionyms, which is a rare exception but an exception that exists. As it is a rare exception we can handle it via the details view rather than the freetext editing. However, also for dirty data (which I regularly work with) it is important that the Editor is still able to show the fact that there is more than 1 basionym for a given homotypic group, even if the freetext area does not allow to create this kind of data. This is important because otherwise the fact is unvisible to the taxonomist who wants to clean up the data.

Who ever is going to implement this, please have this in mind.
