Description

Taxonomists often do not know if a (type-)specimen really exists in a given collection or not.

A flag "presenceInCollectionDoubtful" (?) could help handling this information.

Sometimes also some more information is available such as "lost" or "probably lost". This information may also go into an own attribute in the DerivedUnitBase class. Maybe both attributes can be merged.

An alternative way to handle this kind of information is to use annotations, extensions and/or marker.

Diptera are a concrete use case for this kind of information (see #362).

  • Priority changed from Priority10 to Priority14

It is common practice to indicate if an author has seen a type or not e.g. "Machame, Meyer 343 (holo-: B†; iso-: UPS)" where † means "seen" or to add some more information like "not found".

Problem is that this is information that is somehow related to the author of a treatment therefore it is not fully correct to implement it as a specimen attribute.

It could also be implemented in IndividualAssociations but then we need to add all tpyes as IndividualAssociations to the accepted taxon (maybe this is wanted anyway ?)
