Description

Currently for E+M mosses distribution data and IUCN data are merged as they both use Distribution as model class.

Description data using Distribution class should also be separated by feature and should be possbile to filter via feature tree. This currerently does not seem to work.

Example: https://www.europlusmed.org/cdm_dataportal/taxon/e24d67f8-9e8e-4075-ab4d-01ec703f7341 (only if Andreaea alpestris is set to "publish")

Example on test: https://test.e-taxonomy.eu/dataportal/preview/euromed/cdm_dataportal/taxon/e24d67f8-9e8e-4075-ab4d-01ec703f7341

ERS:

Ga(LC) Ge(EN) Hb(DD)?

Check if this is fully fixed already or if we need to split the ticket. Also check if it only works with the new version or also with the old version.

Definetely open issue is the map handling in dataportal but still needs to be checked with ERS if this is urgent.

Currently the old taxon pages do not show a map for IUCN status but do show the long text list, which is a duplicate for the distribution list (at least in case of E+M). However, if no distribution data exists this might be wanted.

In general we need the possibility to configure how the data should be shown for IUCN in the same way as it is configurable for Distribution. Best would be to make it configurable on a "per feature" base as it is possible for other features types like text data. The configuration interface for each feature in the admin settings (layout->taxon page->taxon profile->Feature Blocks) should be dependend on the supported classes of the feature (e.g. on supportsTextData, supportsCategoricalData, supportsDistribution, etc.).

However this needs to be further discussed as configuration for distribution data is much more complicated then for other supported classes.

A final issue one may think about is to combine the status information in the long text footnote hover information (or in the text itself if configured such) for all relevant "distribution" types. So we could show "native" and "endangered" in the hover/tooltip (if it has the same source, otherwise in neigboring hovers for different sources). This way we do not have to repeat the long text information and still can show the status information.

Note: on the new taxon pages the status is also separated but not shown correctly. Instead it says "No method for rendering unknown description class:"

Should we split this ticket or move it as it is to the next milestone? IMO we should simply move as IUCN is currently not yet usable as Distribution in any of the taxon pages.

As a workaround the distribution hierarchy for IUCN status is shown only if no other distribution data available. Next step should be a configuration for every distribution feature. I set the ticket to in progress because this step should be done as soon as possible.

Now there is a workaround for the dto page as well.

It still shows the above message. See https://test.e-taxonomy.eu/dataportal/preview/euromed/cdm_dataportal/newtaxon/7dfdce02-7c95-427d-9017-b449888cfd84 (" No method for rendering unknown description class: ")

Maybe the portal was not build, now the IUCN status is shown.

The workaround for current E+M is fully functional now for the old and for the new taxon page version. So we can close this ticket. The follow up ticket is #10343
