Redmine EDIT - bug #10417 (New): Remember selected application language after TaxEditor updatehttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/104172023-10-19T15:14:32ZAndreas Müller

for details see #10409

EDIT - bug #10409 (Closed): Default application language should be Englishhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/104092023-09-28T09:12:42ZKatja Luther

mail ERS:

this brings me to the point that in many cases, the TaxEditor opens in German language (also on my laptop). Only German-speaking people can handle this and I wonder if this is actually still needed (it was a requirement for some – I believe very few - users from Germany (BfN?), but for everybody else, including myself, it is just a source of confusion or not understandable at all. On the other hand, I do not wish to switch my system language from German to English. The German language version should never be installed for our international guests and other users.

mail NaK:
The system default is used for the TaxEditor language and there is also a bug, so that you need to switch the language twice to set it from German to English, and you have to do it for each release, and have to connect first. This was always confusing for our international guests, and I had also asked a while ago whether either English should be the default or that at least the language could be selected when downloading the Editor. The German default bothers me, too and I also do not see any reason why English should not be the default.

EDIT - feature request #10387 (Closed): Show transliteration of common name in dataportalhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/103872023-08-29T11:24:49ZAndreas Müller

see #10385.

Correct formatting still needs to be discussed.

EDIT - bug #10375 (Closed): Distribution status combo box does not always show correct Spanish valuehttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/103752023-07-24T15:42:24ZAndreas Müller

MR:

EDIT - bug #10374 (Closed): Editing Spanish only term does not workhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/103742023-07-24T14:52:22ZAndreas Müller

WGB+MR:

EDIT - feature request #10364 (Closed): Implement state modifiers for matrixhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/103642023-06-27T10:09:29ZAndreas Müller

Currently state modifiers can only be edited in details view (see also #10340) but it is also necessary to edit them in the matrix directly.

This can be done preferrably in the state selection dialogue, but if difficult to implement or if the dialogue becomes to complex this way we can also think about another solution.

EDIT - bug #10307 (Closed): Adapt comparator for feature list to use the language stringhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/103072023-04-25T09:35:11ZKatja Luther

Currently the list of features is sorted by the titlecache, but should be sorted by the language string which is used in the list.

EDIT - bug #10305 (Closed): Add DB preference for term languagehttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/103052023-04-24T12:52:53ZKatja Luther

Currently the language for terms can be set only in the local preferences, but should be available also for DB preferences.

EDIT - bug #10155 (New): Preference for default language of shown representationshttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/101552022-09-14T10:11:22ZKatja Luther

Actually we have a preference for the default application language, which differs between German and English and a preference for the terms.
Both are not really applicable for the multilanguage texts. Either we use the term preference for all representations or we create a new preference. I would prefer the first solution.

EDIT - bug #10108 (Closed): Description for MediaSpecimen not shown even if it exists (i18n)https://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/101082022-07-29T16:19:53ZAndreas Müller

copied from #9007#note-11

the description is not available at all (but there might be data if the media reused and originally stems from another input), we should at least show a warning or info if such data exists (see also #6229)

Probably this is the case for non-default language descriptions (I didn't check again when copying it from #9007)

EDIT - bug #10107 (Closed): i18n bug when editing media not having a default language titlehttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/101072022-07-29T16:15:54ZAndreas Müller

copied from #9007#note-11

i18n editing of the title is not available here, and to me it looks like when editing the record always a title record in the default language is created, this is unwanted if a title in another language exists already; either we always offer i18n support in such a case or we disable the field for editing - I realized this when using media in salvador database for media specimen. The media there use Latin as title language (as the title shows mostly the taxon name and author of reference) and Spanish for the description. Especially for the title this leads to unwanted results after saving the data as also the titleCache changes then

EDIT - feature request #10040 (New): Allow an own TaxonName type for Pseudo-Taxahttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/100402022-04-07T20:35:00ZAndreas Müller

or better Pseudo-Taxon names.

This could be a i18n String only instead of all other TaxonName attributes.

Add the according validation rules (rules for taxon name validation already exist).

EDIT - task #10010 (Closed): Install Spanish for Mexico Eflora dataportalhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/100102022-03-31T09:24:23ZAndreas Müller

Also check if bi-lingual portal is easy to install.

Compare with cuba installation where all this exists.

The i18n modules seem still to be missing in the Eflora portals. (https://efloramex.ib.unam.mx/admin/modules vs. https://portal.cybertaxonomy.org/flora-cuba/admin/modules)

https://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/projects/edit/wiki/CdmDataportalMultilingual

WGB: "es gibt 2 Cuba Portale, eins bilungual (inventario), eins nur Spanisch (Flora)."

EDIT - bug #9007 (Closed): Enable i18n support for media description UIhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/90072020-05-08T11:38:41ZAndreas Müller

Currently it shows only English/Default language. If a description is stored in another language this text is not visible and not editable.

EDIT - feature request #8869 (New): Multilanguage Support for terms in editorhttps://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/redmine/issues/88692020-03-02T12:12:57ZKatja Luther

mail AM:

-> change text fields to multilanguage text fields
