1 <h2>Parsing Status Feedback

3 <p>Parsing is the automatic separation of taxa data into its
4 constituents parts, which is then stored separately in the database.
5 Editing your taxa records may therefore involve checking and editing
6 the parsing behaviour. The results of parsing your data will be
7 displayed in the
<strong>Details Sheet
</strong>.

9 <p>The Taxonomic Editor will display the parsing status of a record when
10 it is open in the
<strong>Taxon Name
</strong> panel. If the taxon record you would like
11 to check is not open, you can navigate and activate the record as
12 described in
<a href=
"">The Taxon Name Panel
</a>.

14 <p>The parsing status is shown in the form of warning icons to the left
15 of the taxon name and lines beneath the taxon name in the
<strong>Taxon Name
</strong>
16 panel. Hovering over a warning icon with the mouse arrow will reveal a
17 more detailed messages (the messages shown below are examples). The
18 colours of the icons are also indications of the type of warning. There
19 are three possible parsing states:
