1 <h2>Creating Multiple Datasources

3 <p>Multiple Datasources can be used to create separate databases or datasets within the Taxonomic Editor. You may want to create a separate datasource for different users or for different taxonomic treatments, allowing you to keep the information separate.
</p>
5 <p>With the Taxonomic Editor installed and open on the machine:

8 <li>Ensure that the
<strong>Datasource
</strong> panel is shown:

> Datasource

13 The Datasource panel will open at the bottom of the Taxonomic Editor window.

15 <li>Press the right-click of the mouse with the cursor pointing within the Datasource panel; a drop-down menu will appear.

</strong>:

<strong>"Create New Datasource"</strong> panel will appear.
20 <li>Enter a name for the Datasource in the Datasource Name field:

21 <li>Click the arrow icon to the right of the
<strong>Database Type field
</strong>; a drop-down menu will appear.

22 <li>Click the
<strong>"H2 Database"</strong> option.

24 The drop-down menu will close.

<strong>"Enter credentials for embedded H2 database"</strong> pop-up box will open.
33 <li>Enter a Database name (for example the name of a user or a taxonomic group).

<strong>ICBN
</strong> or
<strong>ICZN
</strong> as appropriate.

35 <li>Click
<strong>Finish
</strong>.

39 <p><strong>Please Note:
</strong> There is no need to input a user name or password. Although you can create a user name and password if you wish, the enforcement of this function is not yet operational, therefore a user will be able to edit any datasource without using the username and password.

41 <p>The new Datasource will appear in the Datasource panel:
