I work in software development for the EDIT project at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The first 12 months of my contract at EDIT was spent interviewing taxonomists across Europe in order to study the practise of revisionary taxonomy. The report from these interviews can be found at http://dev.e-taxonomy.eu/trac/wiki/RevisionaryModels.

Since then I have moved onto the development of the EDIT cyberplatform, in particular the CDM dataportals. These websites, presenting a wide range of information on taxonomic groups, will first focus on the three exemplar groups of Arecaceae (Kew), Diptera (NHM), and Cichorieae (BGBM). Development is ongoing and we hope to present first prototypes in the Spring of 2008.
